A Subway franchise operator has recently signed an agreement with Texas-based Wingstop to open up to seven locations in the metro area. According to Journal Sentinel retail reporter Doris Hajewski, Wingstop is a chicken wing chain that generally does carryout orders, but does have seating for 30-50 people.
The operator of the new Wingstops presently is looking at Milwaukee, West Allis, and Wauwatosa, but has mentioned that preferable locations would be strip malls with food stores as anchors. Boy, if Franklin doesn't hit the jackpot in that department! We have several strip malls with food store anchors, including the Shoppes at Wyndham Village (Hwy 100 & Drexel) and Franklin Centre (76th & Rawson). 1,500 sq ft also isn't a bad number in terms of locating available space. The Shoppes at Wyndham Village, for example, has plenty of options available for lease.
So now, how do we let this operator know that Franklin is "open for business"?
