Over the past few months, dump trucks have been regularly seen going to and from a large parcel of land long rumored to have major development potential near the Loomis & Rawson area, directly behind Pick n Save. Many residents have been making remarks about the constant in and out flow of these trucks for quite some time, and were curious about what was going on with the site.

In FHS Principal Mike Cady's Podcast I reposted yesterday, he mentioned a new incentive for seniors - if you get good grades, good attendance, and are in good behavior, you have what he coins as a "free period". During this period, which is of the seniors' choosing, they may do whatever they feel like doing, including leaving the FHS campus. The period last 86 minutes, and would only be available every other day for seniors, but that still has an impact here in Franklin.

I noticed something positive today when I went to Target: the parking lot was rather busy! Thanks to the addition of Pick n Save next door, the traffic to the development has gone up and more people are shopping at Wyndham Village. Now it leaves the question - how will the Pick n Save on 76th & Rawson do in terms of profits?

Hey - perhaps this is good news for Franklin residents! On the council agenda for Tuesday night is Item G.3, which relates to an agreement with Milwaukee County to have the Rawson Avenue median completely landscaped from 51st to just past the area where 60th Street would be located. This was an effort between the City of Franklin, Milwaukee County, and the developers of the Fountains of Franklin master plan to enhance the corridor and make it more attractive for businesses.

By now, we all know that Sentry Foods on 76th & Rawson is slated to shut its doors in the coming weeks. What we don't know yet is what will be in store for the future of what will be a vacant building. In light of this, several tidbits came into Franklin Today on some possibilities for the site, as well as some other information relating to the Sentry Foods building.
